Standard Stainless Steel 321 Plate

Standard Stainless Steel 321 (UNS S32100 / W.Nr. 1.4541) is a titanium-stabilized austenitic stainless steel plate. By adding titanium at a minimum concentration of five times the carbon content, it effectively binds carbon to prevent chromium carbide precipitation at high temperatures (800°F–1500°F / 427°C–816°C), offering superior resistance to intergranular corrosion and stress rupture in thermal applications.

Standard Stainless Steel 321 (UNS S32100 / 1.4541) plates and sheets are widely chosen for aircraft exhaust stacks, heat exchangers, boiler pressure vessels, expansion joints, and furnace parts operating in thermal sensitization ranges. Titanium stabilization allows welded assemblies to operate continuously under elevated temperature conditions without requiring post-weld annealing.
